Growing Pains
,
Do you remember getting growing pains as a child - those cramping, achy muscle pains that some preschoolers and preteens feel, usually in the late afternoon or evenings. Or maybe you remember growing pains because one of your children experienced them - waking you up in the middle of the night. I remember both. But although called 'growing pains', these pains actually have nothing to do with a child's growth, and actually are of unknown or disputed cause!
But Rod is experiencing a variety of growing pains that does have a direct correlation to growing! Characterised by an aching in the lower back, legs, hips and shoulders, and accompanied by a general wearisomeness, and the cause of this malady is known. We are expanding our garden area, and after fencing, discing, ripping, digging irrigation trenches, etc over the last month or so, he and Jack are now forming new beds and planting our summer crops. These growing pains are not keeping Rod, or me, up at night...
