Goodbye - for now

Goodbye - for now...
I'm sure I've met most of you at the markets but if not, Hi! I'm Ella. Rod and Desley's daughter. I have been working in our garden for years, ever since I can remember really. Of course, at the start it wasn't Homegrown Organics, or even the Eastward Garden, it was just our above average sized veggie garden, supplying us and our friends with fresh veggies. I remember our first meeting after deciding to start making a business of our garden. We were all super excited about it, and I was so proud to be named assistant sales manager! Really all this meant was that I had to go to the markets with mum each week, but the title was so cool!
Now, around three and a half years later, here we are still going strong! But for me, everything is about to change. This Wednesday, I am flying to Canada, ready to start the adventure of a life time! I am going to join my older sister at the boarding school where she works to finish my schooling. It's pretty crazy what life throws at you some times. I have been homeschooled all my life until this year and now I'm going across the world to boarding school!
I can't help but think about all the things I've learnt while working in the garden. Perseverance, work ethic, patience, communication, maths, science, biology, even spelling! So many educational conversations with Dad learning about life and what's going on in the world. I'm definitely going to miss it but I can't wait to see what this new chapter of life brings!
See you in two years!
Ella
PS. Don't worry, I won't forget how to garden. The school I am going to is also the largest organic carrot farm in Canad. Plenty of scope for keeping up my skills ;)
