Coolroom - Here we come!

Most of your veggies are picked either the morning of delivery/market, or the day before. We must pick tender crops like lettuce and other greens the day before so they can spend enough time in the fridge to stop their normal wilting mechanism.  

This year we have outgrown the bank of domestic fridges we had been using. On Monday we can use our refrigerated truck as a coolroom, but it is away at market on Tuesday when we are picking for Wednesday! So for months we have been ferrying veggies about 15km up the road to our neighbour, Farmer Todd's coolroom so they can be tiptop fresh for you.

Last week we poured the concrete slab for our own coolroom. This is the first step in our new washroom/packhouse/coolroom! Efficiency is one step closer. Exciting!
